no surprise... this gen has been 'almost' a total wash for Sony. They has been shifting games to 26. Probably to pad out the eventual release of the PS6, which is also rumored for 26/27.

I´m also expecting Cory´s new game to be crossgen at this point, while GT8 to be their first true next gen only game at launch.

Everything will be cross generations. There won't be many games which will be just next generation only. As we move forward tech isn't going to give a huge jump when it comes to consoles. So why cut off part of your install base whom are easier consumers to target
We still see games being released on PS4. Sony might be looking at finishing strong going into PS6 with a lot of momentum. In 2026/2027

ps6 has never been rumored for 26. lol. where do you get your 'facts' ? this gow game has not been announced either so no one expected a release in 25.
I'll be surprised if PS6 is out before 2028, gens get longer and longer and they've no need to rush it with most of their first party yet to reveal their PS5 titles.

Man, I wish we could go back to the hood ol’ days of God of War. I totally understand the craft and talent that went into the modern version, but I found them incredibly boring. I love the spectacle and unapologetic visceral and energy of the originals. They were shocking, brutal, and completely bad-ass. Wish we could get back to those days.

Tom Henderson and Jeff Grubb suggest a 2.5D Metroidvania-style God of War spin-off is in development, set in Greece before Kratos becomes a god.
And not in a good way! GOW 2018 was not what I was expecting either, and it blew me away! However this is like a popcorn fart in church.
I wouldn't mind playing that, I'm guessing somewhat in the vein of Prince Of Persia:TLC but hopefully with better graphics.
2.5D can be done in many different ways. It could be as simple as a size scrolling game with 3D backgrounds

deserves it Cory please stay on for more GOW game. You belong at SSM/sony because square enix had you but didn't give you the creative freedom to succeed. After finishing GOW2 he left citing bhe was tired/burned out i hope this time around he stays
few years ago when all GOW creative directors had a sit down interview what really made me sad is knowing what david jaffe/cory had in vision for GOW3 and what actually ended up being GOW3(don't get me wrong GOW3 is awesome game but i would have loved a david jaffe/cory combo version of the events after GOW2)
