Video : PSP Isos running on a 4.41 OFW PS3?

Wololo - You might remember the psp2ps3 tools, and all the excitement a few weeks ago around a recent hack breakthrough that allows people to run psp isos (and, potentially, homebrews) on a hacked PS3, by “camouflaging” the game inside a PSP Mini.

This is old. For a second I thought the PS3 had a hidden PSP emulator that hackers just enabled but it's complete homebrew, like the PS2 emulator that EVERY PS3 HAS.

My PS3 slim doesn't have a PS2 emulator. Only the PS3 Phat does . I'm not trying to be rude or argumentative just stating the truth.

Your PS3 slim does have a PS2 emulator. All PS3s have PS2 software emulators, it's just that Sony only allows this implementation only for PS2 classics.

Sony would rather have us rebuy a select list of PS2 games than allow us to play our entire PS2 disc libraries.

Edit:
@Under
Sony embedding the emulator only with releases doesn't change the fact that same emulator can play games that aren't PS2 Classics on a feature that they system launched with initially (Nintendo also took away GC compability on the Wii U, I wonder why)

They don't all have them built in. You can find proof of this by taking a PS3 with no BC and examining the locations you can save, IE PSOne & PS3 save files located under game then recognizing that there isn't one allocated for PS2. From there purchase a PS2 Classic title off of the Playstation Store & download. PS2 save locations get created AFTER you load that first PS2 Classic up for the first time.

The PS3 isn't gaining PS2 BC because of buying the title implying that the coding needed to execute these PS2 Classics is linked with the title, not embedded in the system.

as gar as i'm aware, all ps3's have a SOFTWARE emulator, and the original phat ps3's had a HARDWARE emulator,

they have sftware emu because you can buy ps2 classics from the store.

As posted above those titles you purchase via PSN have the software needed for emulation of the title built into them, not built into the system.

Otherwise by your logic these PSP titles are supported by the PS3 as well, which they aren't. What is actually happening is hackers are altering the ISOs to execute like a Mini title, masking them to the system as such.

In other words these hackers are using the same process for PSP games that Sony uses for PS2 Classics. Thus why the titles don't run 100% correctly, even for the hackers and why they'd still work on an unhacked system if that much is actually true.

"the hacked iso then simply accepted to run on the OFW PS3." They even say it in this story... >.>

The score for the first Plants Vs Zombies is such great, iconic music that it has a timeless quality. Not quite the level of Minecraft, but wonderful in its own right.
